Cook Time: 12–15 minutes
Ingredients
- 1 ball store-bought pizza dough
- 1/2 cup pizza sauce
- 1 1/2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese
- 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
- 1/2 yellow bell pepper, thinly sliced
- 1/2 red bell pepper, thinly sliced
- Fresh basil leaves
- Mike’s Hot Honey, for drizzling
- Olive oil
- Salt and freshly cracked black pepper
Recommended Pairing: Serve with a glass of Butternut Cabernet Sauvignon.
Method
Prepare the Grill
Preheat your grill to medium-high heat and lightly oil the grates to prevent the dough from sticking.
Grill the Dough
On a lightly floured surface, stretch the pizza dough into a 12-inch circle or rustic oval. Brush both sides lightly with olive oil, then place it directly on the grill. Cook for 2–3 minutes per side until lightly charred and crisp.
Add the Toppings
Remove the crust from the grill briefly and spread the pizza sauce evenly over the surface. Top with mozzarella, Parmesan, sliced red and yellow bell peppers, and season with a pinch of salt and freshly cracked black pepper.
Finish Grilling
Return the pizza to the grill, close the lid, and cook for another 5–7 minutes until the cheese is fully melted, bubbly, and the peppers are tender.
Serve
Remove the pizza from the grill and finish with fresh basil leaves and a generous drizzle of Mike’s Hot Honey. Slice and serve immediately with a glass of Butternut Cabernet Sauvignon for an unforgettable summer barbecue experience.
Pro Tip
For an extra layer of savory flavor, sprinkle a little more Parmesan over the pizza immediately after removing it from the grill while the cheese is still hot. If you’re entertaining outdoors, serve the pizza on a wooden board alongside a slightly chilled glass of Butternut Cabernet Sauvignon for a relaxed, restaurant-worthy summer BBQ spread.
