I will define myself as an entrepreneur. While I work a 9 to 5 in Soho, Manhattan, I have also a few ventures out there. I am also an avid traveler and a wine lover.
How did you get started in wine blogging?
Not too long ago, I was blogging about lifestyle, travel and fashion. I was even an editor-in-chief of a recognized Latin songwriter website. I decided to start blogging about wine after a soul-searching life moment. Hence, I discovered I am a wine lover and wine blogging combined perfectly my love for wine and writing.
What attracted you to Butternut and why were you interested in being an Ambassador?
I am a huge supporter of wine in a can. Since Butternut has wines in both bottles and cans, I decided to collaborate with them to continue my quality comparison of bottles and wine. I was surprised by their quality of their Pinot Noir and Chardonnay in a can.
What is the coolest thing you have ever learned about wine / winemaking process?
Last summer, I visited Santorini and I was impressed by their unique way of vine pruning. They train the vines in a basket called ‘koulara’ since they have a challenging climate and volcanic soil. This basket protects the vine and keep it safe and shelters it until is ready.
What is your favorite Butternut Wine pairing?
Butternut Pinot Noir has bright acidity, and rich fruit character pairs delightfully with salmon. Since I am pescatarian, I am really enjoying this pairing.
What is your favorite wine region to visit?
I hope I can visit Piedmont region sooner rather than later.
What wine varietal have you been crushing on lately?
I have been crazy about Nebbiolo.
What is your favorite thing about canned wine?
My favorite thing about canned wine is that is very portable, you can take it anywhere, especially on a hike. I really enjoy hiking and I was the person carrying the bottle of wine to drink at the top, but now, and thanks to canned wine that has changed. Everyone can carry their can to the mountain top.
What is your favorite photo editing app?
I love Lightroom CC, it has great presets especially for when you are on the run.
What is on your “pump up” playlist?
There is a Playlist in Spotify called #CavoParadiso2018 by Cavo Paradiso, which is the best beach house club in Mykonos, Greece. It has the summer playlist that was featured last summer in this amazing club. It brings me good memories and puts me on the mood.
