Anyone who is a fan of wine is a friend of ours and Chelsie Petras, of Chel Loves Wine, is no exception. She started her blog in 2016 which has since grown into a Youtube Channel, Instagram account, and Podcast. She got the name from a nickname she was given in college because she was always the girl at parties with a box of Franzia or a jug of Carlo Rossi (hello, girl after our own heart). She now puts her adoration of wine to good use and we couldn’t be happier to introduce you to her so with no further ado, meet Chel!
Where are you from? I’m originally from a small town in upstate New York but I’ve been living in New York City since 2013!
What is the best thing about your job? The best thing about my job is obviously all of the wine I get to drink and the places I get to see. But I also love being able to actually help my readers learn about wine in an unpretentious manner. I wish that I had a way to learn about wine like this when I first started getting into wine.
What is your favorite Butternut wine? I love them all but if I had to choose I’d probably go Rosé. I think it’s a really easy drinking wine and perfect to drink any time of year.
Bottles or Cans? I’m partial to a bottle (just because there is more in there)!
What wine accessory can you not live without? A good wine key. I hate those wine openers with arm looking things on the sides.
If you could visit one wine region tomorrow, where would you go? I’d probably jet off to Champagne. I got a taste of France this year and I can’t wait to go back. It also helps that champagne is like liquid happiness.
